Community

Members, posts, events and the emails your community sends.

Can I check comments before they go up?

Turn on comment approval and every member comment waits for you. It's a separate switch from the one for posts.

Can I message one member privately, and can members message each other?

Message one member from Community, then Members. Their reply comes back to that screen, not your email. Members messaging each other is a separate setting.

Can I read what members post before it goes up?

Yes — one setting. Off, member posts appear at once. On, nothing appears until you've read it. The waiting ones don't sit in the Feed.

Can I write a post now and have it go out later?

Yes — it's the same composer. The choice sits at the bottom, under When. Events, for live sessions, is a different row and isn't open yet.

How does a new member get welcomed?

One email goes out the moment someone joins, carrying their way in. A good one already sends. This is how to make it sound like you.

How do I delete a comment in my community?

Open the post from Community, Feed. Hide and Delete sit under every comment, your own included, and you can undo both.

How do I get members into my community?

Two ways in. Invite a few people by email from the Members screen. For a roomful, send your community link instead.

How do I hide or delete a post?

The same two verbs work on a whole post. Hiding one takes its comments with it, and both can be undone.

How do I make sure new members see the right post first?

A feed puts the newest thing first. Pinning holds one post above the rest, so it's the first thing every newcomer reads.

How do I move my Facebook group here?

Facebook won't give you your members' email addresses, so there's no import button. You move the people: one post, one link.

How do I name and shape my community?

Your community's name and description live in one place: Community, then Welcome. That page is what a new member sees when they arrive.

How do I reply using a drafted message?

Start a reply from a draft written off what your member actually said, then tell it what to change until it sounds like you.

How do I run a short challenge in my community?

Challenges live under Games. The guide asks five questions about your people in plain English, then drafts the tasks, posts and reminders.

How do I see who needs me today?

Open Community, then Dashboard, and scroll past the charts. Two lists underneath show who's waiting on you, each with a count.

If I hide something, does it still go out in the email?

Everything from the moment you press Hide or Delete is handled. What it can't do is unsend an email that has already gone.

I got a message saying my community needs approving. Approved by whom?

By you, and nobody else. Nothing has been submitted and there's no queue. We drafted your community's name and description from your answers — read it.

My community has gone quiet. How bad is it really, and what do I do first?

A quiet room is normal, not a verdict. Three screens tell you how quiet it really is, and who to write to today.

Nothing sends until I press Send — how does that work?

Almost. Anything written to one person waits for you. A few standing emails go out on their own — all of them listed on one screen.

There are points and badges in my community — where did those come from?

You didn't switch these on. Every community has points, levels and badges running from the day it exists, and they're live for your members now.

There is already a welcome post with my name on it — did I write that?

No, you didn't write it. Every new community gets one short welcome post from us, pinned to the top, carrying your name.

What channels and opening posts did Maya set up, and how do I change them?

Your channels are already named, from what you said your community is for. Here's where to find them, what you can change, and where the posts live.

What is my community's web address, and can I change it?

Your community got a web address automatically. It works today, and it's the only thing anyone needs in order to find you.

Where do I put a worksheet or handout my members can download?

The Vault isn't open yet, for anybody. Today a worksheet reaches your members by being attached to a post.

Where is my community link, and how do I share it?

Your link lives in Community, then Settings, at the top under Public address. It's given to you automatically, so for almost everybody it's already there.

Who can see my community, and can I keep it private?

Your community has one address you share, and a separate setting for how much a stranger who follows it can read.
