Start with Maya is the other way: tell her your idea, even half-formed, and she shapes it with you, then builds it. If you use your own Claude, Start with Claude walks you through the same steps (on an account that uses ChatGPT, the button names ChatGPT).

Start with Maya, or Set it up myself.
Pick the kind of space
Open space is a private room for a group. Challenge runs a few weeks with a game, points and a weekly live session; Programme with a course has your lessons, live sessions and 1:1 calls; Public webinar is a live session anyone can register for.

The four kinds of space.
Give it a name and choose who can join
Who can join offers Anyone in my community, Invite only, Buy access, Enrolled in a course and Anyone who registers. Each kind starts on the usual choice, and you can add or take away any part later.

Name, and Who can join.
Press Create space
It is made as a draft: only you can see it until you publish it.

Create space, under the form.
Work through Set up this space
The list on the space’s Overview shows what is left, such as Put a place on sale, Add lessons or Write the welcome post, each with its own button. Maya can do the rest hands the list to her.

Set up this space, with what is left.
Press Publish it
A box asks Put … live? and says what that means for this space. Press Yes, put it live.

Publish it, at the top of the space.
A space on Buy access goes on sale once you set its price on Access & selling and connect Stripe. How to take payment.

Can I approve new members before they get into my community?
Yes. Switch on approval and anyone who asks to join waits in a Requests list in Members until you let them in, the way a private LinkedIn or Facebook group works. People you invite, and people who pay, still go straight in. About five minutes to set up.
Can I change a member's post before I approve it?
No. A post waiting for your approval can only be approved or rejected, so you cannot change a member's words. If a few words need changing, approve it and add a comment, or message the member and reject it.
Can I change the words in the posts Maya wrote before I approve them?
Yes. Open the post from Drafts on your Feed, press Edit, change the words and press Save changes. What you save is what goes out when you approve it. About a minute.
