Can I talk instead of typing?

Under the boxes you type into there is a **Speak** button. Press it, talk, press **Stop**, and your words are typed into the box for you. It works on a laptop and on a phone.

Nothing is sent or saved until you press the box's own button, like **Save changes**. You can read and fix the words first.
Allow your microphone The first time you press **Speak**, your browser asks if this site may use your microphone. Press **Allow**.

  1. Find the box

    The Speak button sits just under the box it fills. Here it is the box where you ask Maya to change your community's description.

    Press inside the box you want to fill.

  2. Press Speak

    This turns on your microphone for that box only.

    Press **Speak**.

  3. Say it out loud

    The box gets a red edge and Listening counts the time, so you always know which box is listening.

  4. Press Stop

    After a moment your words appear in the box, where your cursor was.

    Press **Stop**.

You will know it worked whenYour words are in the box. Read them over, then save or send the way you normally would.
